프랑스 포커스 | 자라섬재즈페스티벌

저는 올해 자라섬재즈페스티벌의 비주얼 작업을 맡게 되어 기뻤습니다. 이번 작업에서 음악에 대한 애정과 음악이 사람들에게 주는 에너지를 표현할 수 있어서 정말 즐거웠습니다.

이번에 선보이는 두 점의 포스터를 통해 음악과 관객이 하나로 어우러지는 축제의 분위기를 표현하고자 했습니다. 특히 한국과 프랑스 수교 140주년을 기념하기 위해 파리의 야외 선술집 ‘갱게트(Guinguette)’와 프랑스 노천카페의 테라스에서 영감을 얻은 요소들과 자라섬의 코스모스, 딱따구리 같은 요소들을 조화롭게 한 작품에 담았습니다.

이번 포스터에서 저와 자라섬재즈페스티벌은 상반된 매력을 지닌 두 가지 분위기를 연출하기로 결정했고, 하나는 자연으로 둘러싸인 자라섬의 ‘낮’이며, 다른 하나는 시내를 배경으로 한 ‘밤’의 풍경입니다.

포스터 속 다채로운 색감과 역동적 분위기에서 등장인물들은 색소폰 선율에 맞춰 춤을 추며, 마치 프레임 밖으로 나올 것만 같습니다. 한편에서는 시내의 줄 전구 조명 아래, 와인을 즐기고 있습니다. 이러한 전반적인 구성을 통해 자라섬재즈페스티벌을 의미하는 즐거운 축제 분위기, 따뜻한 유대감, 그리고 문화적 교류를 느껴보시길 바랍니다.

I was delighted to work on this year’s festival visuals. It was a real pleasure to convey the love of music and the energy it brings to those who listen to it.

For the creation of these two posters, I aimed to create a festive atmosphere where music and the audience come together. To celebrate the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and France, I incorporated elements inspired by Parisian guinguettes and café terraces, combined with cosmos flowers and a woodpecker.

For this edition, we chose to represent two distinct atmospheres: one by day, on an island surrounded by nature, and the other by night, in an urban setting.

The atmosphere is colorful and dynamic. The characters dance to the sound of the saxophone and seem to step out of the frame. Others share a glass of wine under string lights. Overall, the composition highlights the spirit of celebration, conviviality, and cultural exchange that defines the festival.
