“This painting was originally a beautiful painting of a flock of flamingos reflecting in a lake. It was a painting with a tropical atmosphere. When I was asked by the Jarasum Jazz Festival for their poster,
I added a few jazz players and blues singers to this painting, followed by a tiger sitting next to a piano, a giraffe playing a trumpet, and sunglasses.
I drew an elephant playing maracas.
And then I looked, and there was an island of wonderful jazz spread out in front of me. I was really happy that everyone liked it. Just stare at this picture. Doesn't it sound like you can really hear the music?”
